We were contacted by a woman who came to us because she was concerned that the best friend that she had had from childhood had begun stealing from her. Several months prior to the start of the investigation the best friend of the client had been forced to leave their rented property for undisclosed reasons and had so moved in to live with the client. Since that time the client had noticed several items becoming lost or misplaced and was beginning to suspect that there was another party involved. However the client was unsure whether it was her best friend or her new boyfriend and felt that she could confront neither without proof and so we were asked to investigate.

When he contacted us at ??? we found out from the client that he had noticed his wife become very distant from him and act differently when they were alone together. The client was due to be travelling away on a business trip in several days and so asked that surveillance be set up on his home and on his wife for the duration for his absence to monitor his partner's activities. We complied with the client's request and once he had left the property surveillance was set up around the residence so that the individual could be monitored. Though the target had a small party of friends round and attended work there was no indication in her behaviour of any extramarital relationship.

We presented the client with a full report of all the evidence gathered of both of the individuals' activities which included both video and photographic evidence of the in discrepancies. Following the investigation the client was able to confront her friend from childhood on her behaviour and she apologised and the items were returned and the pair are now restoring the trust in their relationship.
